L’Arte può insegnarci la speranza, così come può insegnarci il servizio, l’aiuto amorevole. Nel 1740, il lucchese Pompeo Batoni dipinge questo quadro sublime e dalla forte valenza sentimentale per tutti i sammarinesi: “San Marino risolleva la Repubblica”. Se siamo convinti che tutto andrà male, e stiamo perdendo di vista la luce in fondo al tunnel (il periodo storico-sociale in cui siamo certamente non aiuta) questo quadro ci può aiutare a lavorare sul nostro cuore, a riaprirci alla speranza, a riaprirci al futuro, a credere di nuovo, a provare fede, a provare fiducia. Guardando gli occhi di lei, ferventi di vittoria e di voglia di rialzarsi, questo arriverà anche a noi; osservando la sua disponibilità e la sua capacità a farsi aiutare, e la sua fiducia nell’altro che l’aiuta, questo arriverà anche a noi. D’altra parte, se guardiamo invece al San Marino, vedremo l’emblema dell’autorità, del genitore che incondizionatamente ama e aiuta la sua creazione, che sa sempre come fare perché sente di essere all’altezza del suo compito, e addirittura con la mano rischiara il cielo dalle nuvole della confusione; la sua figura ci trasmette la sicurezza e la calma necessarie ad affrontare con occhi nuovi il rapporto con nostro figlio, o più in grande con chi amiamo davvero. Art can teach us hope, as well as Art can teach us how to be at service, how to fondly help. In 1740, the luccan Pompeo Batoni creates this sublime painting, which has a strong sentimental value for all sammarinese citizens: the title is “St. Marin lifts the Republic”.If we’re convinced that everything will fall apart, and we’re losing sight of the light at the end of the tunnel (this historical and social period doesn’t help for sure) this painting may help us to work on our heart, to reopen ourselves to hope and future, to believe again, to feel faith and trust. Looking at her eyes, fervent for victory and willing to rise again, this is what we’ll also get; observing her willingness and capacity to get help, and her trust in theother one that’s helping, this is what we’ll also get.On the other side, if we look at St. Marin, we’ll see the symbol of authority, the emblem of the parent who’s unconditionally loving and helping his own creation, the parent who always knows what to do just because he feels like he’s up to its task, and he even brightens the sky, clearing it from the clouds of confusion; his figure gives us the necessary serenity and calm to face the relationship with our kids, or generally with who we really love, andwith through brand new eyes this time.
